Founding Chair: David Titus, Ohef Sholom Temple Library

A New York native, David Titus has been a librarian for 50 years. After teaching English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Rhode Island for several years, he received his MLS and became a full-time librarian. Over the years he has been a school librarian, an academic librarian, a regional library coordinator, and since retirement he is the volunteer librarian for both the Ohef Sholom Temple Library and Hampton Roads Naval Museum Library in Norfolk, Virginia. The Temple library contains the Bonk-Rivin Holocaust Collection, which now contains one of the world's largest collections of Holocaust-related graphic novels and comic books. Your itinerary for one perfect day in Virginia: Traveling to Norther Virginia wine country to visit my niece and attending the Waterford Fair.
One thing you can’t live without: Unfortunately, my laptop.
One favorite Holocaust graphic novel: Flying Couch by Amy Kurzweil
One piece of advice for GN&C Forum members: Advocate! Graphic novels and comics are legitimate resources.
One accomplishment you’d like to share: I have developed one of the world’s largest collections of Holocaust-related graphic novels and comic books which now numbers almost 200 unique titles.
