DATE ENTERED: March 19, 2024 POSITION: Librarian-Collections (Part-time) DESCRIPTION: Pamunkey Regional Library (“PRL”) is seeking applications for the part-time position of Collections Librarian in its Collection Strategy Department. PRL is a nine-branch library system that serves approximately 154,000 residents in the counties of Goochland, Hanover, King and Queen, and King William. The library has a collection of over 200,000 items and an annual collection budget of over $600,000. RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for selecting and recommending a range of material formats to meet the needs and demands of the community. Recommendations will be made using professional resources and library software; by evaluating and responding to requests for materials from internal and external customers; and by analyzing the collection for accuracy, relevancy, and popularity. The position requires frequent use of Microsoft Excel and library reporting software to compile statistics and evaluate the collection. This position is supervised by the Collection Strategy Librarian. REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university and previous library experience are required. Closely related coursework and/or experience preferred.
