Virginia Library Leadership Academy (VALLA) Sponsorship
VALLA is a nationally recognized, biennial program created through the Virginia Library Association that is designed to develop a diverse Virginia library workforce into leaders in their community at every stage of their career. We are now fundraising for the 2026 cohort and seeking $35,000 to ensure the continued strength and reach of this vital program (roughly $1400 per participant).
Equity is a cornerstone of VALLA. Leadership opportunities should be available to all, not just those who can afford them. This allows staff from all backgrounds—especially those from underfunded institutions or early in their careers—to access professional development that might otherwise be out of reach. Eliminating financial and accessibility barriers helps us build a truly representative library leadership pipeline across the Commonwealth.
