Lending Services Coordinator (position 00384A)

This position is responsible for lending and/or electronic delivery of materials to other libraries and for resources fulfillment services to ODU faculty, students, and staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Considerable knowledge of effective customer service skills.
  • Considerable interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills to reconcile financial data and perform statistical data collection.
  • Basic skills in word processing, spreadsheet applications and Internet searching.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic ability to effectively communicate and organize work.
  • Considerable ability to follow and interpret complex policies and procedures in the execution of detail oriented work.
  • Basic ability to perform detailed work successfully.
  • Basic ability to work independently and with others, in teams and on committees.
  • Basic ability to maintain confidentiality and to deal with people utilizing tact, discretion and diplomacy.
  • Basic ability to work within time constraints.
  • Basic experience performing highly detailed tasks and in following and interpreting complex policies and procedures in the execution of detail oriented work.
  • Basic experience providing customer service in a public service setting.
  • Basic experience with database searching and using software applications to perform detailed tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some Library experience.
  • Some knowledge of library automation demonstrating ability to integrate technology into library functions.
  • Some knowledge of the general support activities of library operations demonstrating understanding of library organization, procedures and techniques.
  • Some supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Some knowledge of ILLiad resource sharing request management system.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $28,354
