Access Services & Resource Sharing Specialist

The Wolf Law Library at William & Mary Law School is looking for an Access Services & Resource Sharing Specialist. Under the direction of the Head of Access Services, the Access Services & Resource Sharing Specialist is responsible for managing the library’s resource sharing services, coordinating and processing interlibrary and document delivery requests from both W&M faculty and students and non-W&M patrons and libraries, providing public services support in circulation and reference, and overseeing the library’s controlled digital lending initiatives.



Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of experience in resource sharing in an academic or public library.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the organization and classification of information resources.
  • Demonstrated experience using OCLC’s resource sharing and related products.
  • Strong service orientation, excellent oral and written communication skills, and sound organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and finish tasks on time with minimal direction.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to view the library and its functions as a unified whole and work effectively and collegially with library staff and other members of the law school and college communities.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with other libraries.
  • Commitment to serving diverse patrons and ensuring the library’s services and spaces are inclusive and welcoming to all.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience using ILLiad and RapidILL
  • Demonstrated experience using Alma integrated library system.
  • Familiarity with legal information sources and citation and law journal publishing.
  • Prior experience working in library reference or circulation services.
  • Prior experience with controlled digital lending.
