Communications Coordinator (00191A) – Full-time position

Reporting to the Head of Libraries’ Engagement, this position provides programming, administrative and communications support for Libraries engagement efforts. This includes managing the Libraries social media presence, creating physical and digital promotional content, and planning and coordinating in-person and online events. This position will lead the Libraries’ Communications Team and will collaborate with University Communication to generate promotional material/messaging and awareness of events, services, and resources.

Required Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, desktop publishing, and Internet searching.  Basic knowledge of tools and methods for creating digital photo and video content.  Considerable interpersonal, organizational, communication, and project and time management skills.  Basic demonstrated skills in graphic design and public relations communication.  Basic analytical skills including problem solving and critical thinking.  Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding and rapidly changing service-oriented environment.  Considerable ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations both verbally and in writing. Basic experience in creating communication items such as press releases, newsletters, gift acknowledgments, and annual reports.  Basic experience in event planning.

Preferred Qualifications
Basic customer service experience.  Some experience in financial management.   Some experience working in or with libraries.  Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities.
