INTRODUCTION:
Do you enjoy working on a great library team? Is your passion leading an engaging, exciting youth services department? The Prince William Public Library System (PWPLS) is seeking a Youth Services Supervisor/Senior Librarian to head up the youth services department at multiple locations.

This position will supervise youth services staff in planning and developing creative and engaging programming for ages 0-18. This position requires knowledge of event management/summer reading tracking platforms. In addition, this Youth Services Senior Librarian will plan and implement goals for their department in support of the Library strategic plan. The chosen candidate will be an active participant on the branch's management team including being in charge of the building when needed. This position will assist patrons with reader's advisory techniques, ability to utilize e-resources and working with digital devices. Assisting patrons with circulation services will also be required. This position requires excellent communication skills, time management and organizational skills, and a willingness to expand outreach in our community.

PREFERENCES: The preferred candidate will have experience in: public libraries, youth services, supervising others, managing operations within a facility and assisting patrons at the service desk; as well as excellent communication, customer service skill and an ability to meet deadlines and have excellent time management skills.

SCHEDULE:  These are full time, exempt positions located at Chinn Park Regional Library, Haymarket Gainesville, Montclair, and Potomac Community Libraries. The schedule includes days, one evening a week and rotating weekends.  Flexibility is paramount. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: These positions require travel. A DMV check is conducted for staff operating county or personal vehicles during business hours.

Hiring Range: $62,623 - $92,293
