Chief Objective of Position The Instructional Outreach Librarian is responsible for the development and delivery of all aspects of the library’s instruction program.

Work Tasks    
1. Plan, develop, and assess a program of instruction in library resources and services for all communities of the University.
2. Manages and acts as lead instructor of program.
3. Develop, maintain and assess an instruction web page on library’s web page.
4. Oversees Reference Services.
5. Develops special workshops and student outreach.
6. Assess and expand Student Reference Assistant program.
7. Acts as liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity.
8. Review and communicate safety issues to assure a safe and healthy workplace and a reduction in work related absence.
9. Develop and maintain very positive and professional customer service and/or relations within the office/department and with all constituencies to include students, faculty, staff, guests, and employees. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude and treat everyone with dignity and respect. Fully support the “Student’s First” value at CNU and routinely goes the extra mile in providing service.
10. This position is designated as a “responsible employee” who has the authority to redress sexual violence, who has the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct, or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) required    Excellent teaching, written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal communication skills

Required Education    A Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution by application date is required.

Preferred Education    Second Masters Degree in a related field.

Experience Required    Proven experience in an academic library environment in public services and instruction. Demonstrated experience in library outreach to faculty and students.
