Public Services Coordinator Librarian - Youth
LOCATION: Pamunkey Regional Library, Hanover VA
DESCRIPTION: The Public Services Coordinator Librarian is responsible for creating a unified, system-wide approach to the delivery of library services and participating in the planning and evaluation of programs, services, and goals in an assigned customer service area for the library system.  This position reports to a Supervising Librarian.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include coordinating and implementing new programming initiatives, organizing outreach efforts, and providing system-wide training and support. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited library school.  Relevant previous experience preferred.  Certification as a professional librarian by the Library of Virginia is required within 6 months of employment. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license or reliable transportation.  May require evening and weekend hours.
SALARY: Starting rate for this full-time, 40 hour per week position is $23.66 per hour with benefits.

Public Services Librarian
Adult - Position available at the Mechanicsville branch.
Youth - Positions available at the Ashland, Atlee, and Mechanicsville branches.
DESCRIPTION: The Public Services Librarian provides service to library users in an assigned customer service area.  This position supervises or delegates supervision of all employees and volunteers assigned to the area.  The Librarian is an integral part of the branch library management team and the position is supervised by the Branch Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include developing and delivering programs, fostering community partnerships, providing staff training, customer workshops, and promoting library resources within the branch and through outreach. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited library school.  Relevant previous experience preferred.  Certification as a professional librarian by the Library of Virginia is required within 6 months of employment. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license or reliable transportation.  Must work evening and weekend hours on a regular basis.
SALARY: Starting rate for this full-time, 40 hour per week position is $19.30 per hour with benefits.

Collections Librarian (Part-time)
DESCRIPTION: As part of the Technical Services team, the part-time Collections Librarian assists with centrally developing and managing the collection for PRL. PRL has a physical collection of over 200,000 items and an annual collection budget of over $600,000. This position is supervised by the Collection Strategy Librarian.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The position is responsible for selecting and recommending a range of material formats to meet the needs and demands of the community. Recommendations will be made using professional resources and library software; by evaluating and responding to requests for materials from internal and external customers; and by analyzing the collection for accuracy, relevancy, and popularity.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from ALA-accredited library school. Relevant previous library experience preferred.
PAY RATE: $19.30/hour; 16 hours per week.
