Become Involved in VLA Professional Associates Forum (VLAPAF)

Do you want to make a difference? Then get involved. VLAPAF

Anyone is welcome!

Please consider networking with a great group of Professional Associates. Your ideas and knowledge are essential to the success of the VLA Professional Associates Forum. All Forum members must be a member of VLA. All of the VLAPA opportunities are volunteer positions.

  • Help at the conference (does not require attending VLAPAF Board meetings)
    • Facilitate a session – introduce the speaker and track the time, so the session ends on time.
    • Arrange and move the raffle baskets.
  • Join a committee to plan (does not require attending all Board meetings)
    • Awards – review submissions for all award nominations.  Choose recipient with other committee members.
    • Social Media – assist in posting VLAPAF items of interest and general library news on the VLAPAF Facebook page and Twitter.
    • Marketing – assist in ways to promote the VLAPAF and its educational opportunities.
    • Mini-workshop – assist in organizing a workshop in your VLA region.
    • Networking – assist in ways to keep Professional Associates connected.
    • Scholarship Baskets – assist in promoting the baskets and selling tickets.
  • Join the Board (requires attending all Board meetings; about 4 – 5 per year)
    • Help plan the VLAPAF Annual Conference.
    • Please see the VLAPAF by-laws within the VLA Manual for the requirements for a Board position.  Anyone is welcome!
