About Legislative Committee:
The Legislative Committee (Committee) is a committee of the Virginia Library Association (VLA). The Committee is charged with the responsibility to recommend a legislative platform to the VLA Board of Directors each year and to lobby on behalf of VLA in conjunction with the VLA lobbyist. The Committee promotes libraries and helps inform the legislature as well as encourages understanding and involvement of members in the legislative process. The Committee also disseminates information on legislative matters relevant to libraries and librarianship with librarians and supporters of libraries.
