Officers and Membership:
The Treasurer serves as chair of the Finance Committee.
The Immediate Past-treasurer, Vice-president/President-elect, the Conference Committee chair, the Publications Committee chair, and a Paraprofessional Forum co-chair serve by virtue of their office. The Executive Director is an ex-officio (non-voting) member of the committee.
In addition, the Second Vice-president may appoint three members for a two-year term.

The Treasurer is a member of the Executive Committee and Council The Treasurer’s term begins immediately following Annual Conference, and is for two years with the term to begin in alternate years from the term of the Secretary.
The Treasurer acts as chief fiscal officer of the Association, supervises preparation of annual operating budget, coordinates with the Executive Director activities concerned with financial administration, investment of funds, general accounting, financial and statistical reporting and monitors performance of Association’s investments and informs the Executive Committee on Association’s investments. The Treasurer also presents financial reports to Executive Committee, Council, and the Association, and reviews monthly financial reports compiled by the Executive Director. The Treasurer serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.
VLA members who are interested in receiving an update on the status of the the Association’s finances, or to see a copy of the most recent budget reports, should contact the Treasurer. Budget reports are regulalry provided at VLA Council meetings as well as at the Business Meeting at Annual Conference.
