VLA Publications:

The Virginia Library Association is a publisher of journals and monographs.

VLA produces Virginia Libraries, a quarterly journal whose purpose is to develop and improve library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to advance literacy and learning and to ensure access to information in the Commonwealth of Virginia. [ISSN 1086-9751].  The journal, distributed in print to the membership, is used as a vehicle for members to exchange information, ideas, and solutions to mutual problems in professional articles on current topics in the library and information field.  Web access to Virginia Libraries is made possible by the Virginia Tech Scholarly Communications Project. Virginia Libraries is also available by subscription at $20 per year.  For submissions or guidelines, contact one of the co-editors: Cy Dillon   cdillon@ferrum.edu or Lyn C. A. Gardner   cgardner@hampton.gov

In addition, the Association has several special publications published by its units, including the popular Intellectual Freedom Manual, VPLDA’s Planning for Excellence, and other publications. Some VLA units, divisions, round tables, and interest groups also publish newsletters of interest to their members.
