Meet A Member: Teresa Nuar

Teresa NuarWhere do you work?
Roanoke County, VA

What is your current position?
Young Adult Divisional Librarian

When did you first know that you wanted to be a librarian?
I first knew during college, while working at my college library (Franciscan University) and watching the librarians help my fellow students. Helping others was always something I wanted to do, and watching the librarians do just that convinced me that it would be an incredible job. Being surrounded by books all day, definitely helps too!

What was your first library job?
I was a student worker at my library in college (Franciscan University).

What is your favorite part of librarianship?
Working with the teens who come into the library after school each day.

What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you on the job?
I convinced my coworkers that I am 49! (Note: I am definitely in my 20's)

If you could have anything in the universe installed in your office for your personal use, what would it be?
That is simple enough—a latte machine! I do love my coffee!

What is something your colleagues would be surprised to know about you?
I love making needlepoint crafts and mosaics!
