POSITION: Program Assistant

Assist with the coordination of a national forum hosted by the William R. and Norma B. Harvey Library on diversity, recruitment and retention in the Library and Information Sciences field.  This is a part-time temporary grant funded position from November 2017- September 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct conference administrative tasks
  • Create, organize, and distribute event promotional materials
  • Establish and maintain conference outreach
  • Order conference supplies and materials
  • Coordinate event participant travel arrangements


  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • One-year experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Demonstrated professionalism
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Required to some work nights and weekends


  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Experience working in a library or museum preferred
