Requires a Master's degree in Library Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program, plus two (2) years of professional/administrative library work.

Virginia Beach Public Library is seeking an innovative, energetic and creative professional with a commitment to enriching the lives in our community and creating a climate of lifelong learning with a focus on ages 0-18 and their families.

Duties include, but are not limited to: presenting Every Child Ready to Read curriculum-based story times and special programming for children, preparing and delivering education programs for parents (or caretakers) and other adults, to engage them in library services and teach them to help children be successful readers, providing reader's advisory, reference and information services to children and teens, assisting with the management of the Summer Reading Program and additional system-wide youth programming, providing high quality school-age, with an emphasis on S.T.E.A.M., creating and maintaining community partnerships, and providing training for staff in youth services. Additional duties may be assigned to ensure the standardization of Youth and Family services programs across the system. Requires excellent communication and customer service skills with a variety of customers. Does other related work as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Salary: $45,552.00 - $69,929.60
