Mentoring can be a critical element in success, retention, and promotion of librarians. But how can we ensure that mentoring is available to all, insulate ourselves from personality conflicts and staff turnover, and get librarians at all levels involved? This session will discuss best practices in mentoring, describe five different models for mentoring programs, highlight the group mentoring program currently in place at the University of Colorado Boulder, and help you determine which approach might prove most effective in your environment.
