Call for Virginia Libraries Editorial Board members and Peer Reviewers

Dear VLA members and Virginia library colleagues,

This call invites *you* to participate in shaping the new direction for VLA’s Virginia Libraries journal. We are looking for members for our Editorial Board, and for potential Peer Reviewers who will represent the many types of Virginia libraries and roles: public, special/corporate, school, college, and research. Please consider applying to join our Virginia Libraries Editorial Board, and/or submit an interest form to be a Peer Reviewer.

Editorial Board members

This call seeks 4-6 people to join the Virginia Libraries Editorial Board who:

  • are excited about shaping the direction of the Virginia Libraries journal
  • are from a variety of types of libraries and library roles
  • have various levels of experience (from experienced to novice) with writing and editing for professional practice, scholarly, and/or research publications
  • have an interest in one or more of the following: developing and updating journal scope and guidelines; soliciting articles and providing support to authors and potential authors; designing and maintaining journal look and layout; locating appropriate peer reviewers and distributing submissions for review; copy editing of accepted articles
  • can commit 1-4 hours per month (depending on journal production cycle)

    • Current CV or resume
    • Writing sample

Peer Reviewers

This call hopes to identify library professionals in Virginia who have an interest in peer reviewing their colleagues’ work to: gauge topical relevance and quality, and to offer suggestions for revisions. Please complete this online form to provide: your contact information, your experience with writing and reviewing, and your level and areas of experience in professional practice and/or research.
