Banned Books Week Display Contest
September 20-27, 2003
Celebrating the Freedom to ReadDisplay Winner
Randolph-Macon Woman's College
Randolph-Macon Woman's College chose to build upon the soup can theme chosen by ALA for Banned Books Week and created a display mixing materials they created and some bookmarks and a poster purchased from ALA. There were "table-tent posters" printed out on colored paper and placed on all public seating areas around the library. These 'table-tents" had quotes from famous people about the importance of the "freedom to read."
The librarians wore the ALA Banned Books Week t-shirts to wear during the course of the Banned Book week as a form of advertisement.
