The Virginia Library Association is a publisher of numerous journals, newsletters, and monographs. The VLA Newsletter is published monthly and provides current information on VLA projects and activities, as well as quality articles on library issues and programs in Virginia. A subscription is included with annual membership dues.
VLA also produces Virginia Libraries, a quarterly journal whose purpose is to develop and improve library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to advance literacy and learningand to ensure access to information in the Commonwealth of Virginia. [ISSN 1086-9751]
The journal, distributed to the membership, is used as a vehicle for members to exchange information, ideas, and solutions to mutual problems in professional articles on current topics in the library and information field. Virginia Libraries is also available by subscription at $20 per year.

In addition, the Association has several special publications published by its units, including the popular Intellectual Freedom Manual, VPLDA's Planning for Excellence and other publications. Some VLA units, divisions, round tables, and interest groups also publish newsletters of interest to their members.
