To encourage members to continue their education, the Roanoke Valley Library Association annually offers scholarships to members enrolled in an ALA-accredited school. Membership is limited to residents of the Roanoke Valley area and immediately surrounding counties with RVLA membership. $250 is divided among the applicants. If you are someone who wants to make a difference in your field by developing or expanding your leadership role in Virginia libraries, then we are looking for you! The Virginia Library Leadership Academy (VALLA), a training and development program in library leadership and management skills, takes place April 19-20, 2010, at The English Inn in Charlottesville. This year there are 3 $2500 scholarships available. DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING!! The deadline for the 2009 VLA Scholarships is March 1, 2009. The VLA Scholarship raffle at the Fall Conference was very successful.
