Call for Proposals NOW OPEN (DEADLINE March 15, 2017)

VLA provides two options for submissions.

• VLA Session Proposal Form (45 minute sessions and/or poster sessions; sessions will be chosen by the 2017 VLA Conference Committee.); or
• VLACRL Conference-Within-A-Conference Proposal Form (45 minute sessions and/or poster sessions; the VLA Chapter of the Association of College & Research Libraries will peer-review and crowdsource proposals.)

What do I need to complete the Proposal Form?

• A VLA login. You do not need to be a member to have a login. You must log in to submit a proposal so that you are able to log back in to the form and make changes in the future.
• Contact information for all speakers: name, email and organization. (Biography optional; will be included in the conference app.)
• Program title, description, learning objectives and take-aways
• Level of audience for the program
• Preferred program date and time
• Topic/Category of presentation (click here for full list of options)

Proposals will be reviewed and presenters will be notified in May 2017. Requested session times and dates will be honored wherever possible. Up to two presenters per session will receive 50% off the conference registration fee. The Main will open in March of 2017. Hotel rooms will be available at the VLA group rate of $139 per night plus taxes and fees (with a small block of rooms available at the prevailing government rate). Pssst....one of the hotel restaurants has private dining rooms hidden behind bookcases. The hotel will have its own parking lot and there are several nearby city-owned parking lots. We will post more details in Spring of 2017; please visit http://www.themainnorfolk.com/ for information about the hotel and dining facilities. The Main is on the same block as the Norfolk Public Library's Slover Library.
