In 2012, the Virginia Library Association will be heading back to the Williamsburg Marriott from October 24-26.
Anyone wishing to present a program at the Annual Conference will need to complete the Concurrent Session Proposal Form and submit it by May 1, 2012. Remember, up to 2 presenters at each session receive 50% off the registration fee! Start brainstorming with your colleagues now! We know you are all doing fabulous programs and implementing outstanding services to library patrons all over the Commonwealth. Come share those with us!
Does your library excel at any of the following topics? They were suggested by *your colleagues* at the 2011 Conference as ideas for upcoming conferences:
- Access Services Programming (building security, lost and found, study room reservations, ILL, course reserves)
- designing technology training programs for staff that are practical
- something for the circ folks- customer service maybe
- hands-on sessions that would function as tutorials instead of lectures
- Local history programming
- programs on building staff morale
- Readers Advisory
- how to reach out to the community and advocate for your library
Looking for a job in a library in Virginia? Plan to attend the conference…it’s a great way to network! Between now and then, keep an eye on Jobline, the best place to look for library postings in the state!
