Northern Michigan University in Marquette, located on Lake Superior in
the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is pleased to announce the
availability of a Post-MLS Fellowship in the Olson Library, which is
part of Academic Information Services.
The Post-MLS Fellowship will give the fellowship recipient experience in
serving at a reference desk at a comprehensive university of
approximately 9300 students, as well as experience with library
instruction in a range of subjects and media. Research activity in an
area related to the fellow’s future career goals and current work in
Academic Information Services is expected and supported. An
ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science is
required; we seek candidates who have recently received or who will
complete this degree prior to the start of the fellowship. The position

The fellowship is for one year (with a possible option to renew for a
second year), with a nine-month appointment. The salary is competitive
and compensation includes health, retirement benefits, and tuition
